Harchester United 2002
Kenny Veysey Testimonial  -  Sunday 28th April 2002  -  Plainmoor, Torquay
Kenny Veysey XI -vs- Harchester United    -    By David Bott
A few weeks previous to Kenny Veysey's testimonial, the man himself contacted me about helping him with the match programme for the game. He wanted me to compile profiles for the cast of Dream Team. He also wanted me to send anything extra that may help the section on Harchester United. This was an offer I could not refuse.

After the profiles were finished, in return, Kenny kindly sent me two tickets for the game just like he'd said and he also promised to get me into the players lounge after the game to meet him, the teams and cast of Dream Team that would all be there on the day.

Unfortunately for me, only days before the game, DISASTER. I gained an illness which later turned out to be a light case of pnumonia and had to be admitted to hospital for a few days. Due to this, I missed the match and the oppurtunity to meet some good people.

My dad wrote a letter to Kenny explaining my absence and also asked for information on how to gain the programme. In a reply, Kenny just didn't send the programme, he also sent a Get Well Soon Card. It was nice to receive this and think that Kenny and his family had used some of their vital time to send me the card. My biggest thanks go them all!

I may not know Kenny in person, but in the short time I have known him by email and other sources, its true to say he is a Good Honest Man!

Back to the match, Kenny informed me that the game went well and was entertainment for the crowd. The game ended 6-5 to Harchester United! Everybody that was announced to be there was... Even if I wasn't there, for those that were, it was a fun day out!
